 Caressed by a Crimson Moon (Rulers of Darkness, #3)

A great addition to the paranormal romance genre!
I started this series from the first book, reading each as they hit the digital shelves unable to resist the intriguing plot of each book. The third installment was no different for me. I really wanted to see how the author would handle Hadrian Lucretius story because she did such a well job of developing the first two books and ending each with a cliffhanger that hinted to the next story to come. I was not disappointed!
Caressed by a Crimson Moon is the story of Hadrian Lucretius, King of the Validus Clan and his return to his throne after three centuries of self inflicted isolation from his clan. Crazed from guilt and suffering through the blood lust of his demon, Hadrian is brought back from the brink of death by the hand of his trusted second in command. The struggle back to power is not an easy road for him though. Unable to fully control the demon that resides in him, as in all vampires, he must struggle to stay in control of his actions which is tested beyond to the limits when he enforces a treaty with a South American shifter pack and becomes the guardian of Eva Maldonado, a very sexy half breed that calls to him and his darker side.
Facing his coronation and all suitors challenging him for his right to the throne, Hadrian can’t afford to have his focus torn from making himself well again for his clans’ sake. But what he doesn't realize is how much Eva Maldonado will come to mean to him and vice versa.
Ms. Greene did good job of creating a hero and heroine that captured my attention and held me captive with intrigue throughout the story. I loved how head strong Eva came across and how she was not afraid to stand up for what she wanted. Literally. She had some pretty scary moments with Hadrian’s demon where if she’d backed away her ending would have been bloody. Needless to say the excitement and steamy romance went hand in hand in this paranormal romance. Speaking of steamy, with the tension high and the attraction forged by more than what meets the eye the sex couldn't be anything more than sizzling!
The ending left a door wide open and I can’t wait to see how Ms. Greene brings together the next two fated souls. Who are they? Well, you’ll just have to read the book… no spoilers from me!
