He growled as lightning struck only feet away. “Lynn Ferguson, are you lovers?”

No. No. No. It can’t be him. Please, no! Tears blurred her vision.

“He won’t have you,” he said, pressing closer. “Ever.” His lips brushed against her neck.

Terror and arousal swirled within her, overwhelming her mind. She seriously thought she would pass out. This was too much.

His tongue swept over her pulse. “Tell me, little wolf, what did I say would happen if you ran from me again?”

Why did his voice have to be so damn sexy? He nipped at her pulse. Unbearable heat crashed over her.

“You would bite me.”

His hand moved from her throat to grip her arm; his other hand flattened between her shoulder blades.

“Do you know what a vampire’s bite does to the victim?” he rasped, drawing his fangs down the column of her throat.

She shook her head.

“By taking your blood,” he nipped at her pulse, “I’ll always know where you are.”

He didn’t have to say the words for her to know there would be no hiding from him.

“It can bring indescribable pain.” He nipped at her again, more aggressively, drawing a gasp from her. “Or devastating pleasure.”

The vampire struck, sinking his fangs in deep.
