Review: 

I wanted to love this book, since I have read a few of Susan Johnson's books in the past and really enjoyed them. However, this books was just...bad. The premise/plot was nice and typical for a historical romance but I could just not get into the characters or their "romance."

She sighed and began to adulate her hips against him. He bit back a curse as fire spread through his veins.

~“Please, vampire,” she begged, her voice shaking with need.

Despite her diluted blood, Eva had a wild nature; a dark animalistic way about her and it was such a goddamn turn on.

Control. Be gentle, he warned himself as he moved against her again. Her thighs tightened about him and he bit back a curse. God this felt so…right.

“P-please, Hadrian,” she painful whimpered and her words forced him into action.

His lips descended to her throat. His teeth grazed her soft skin and Eva’s breath caught, his fangs tickled and teased.

Fire. She was on fire. Her clothes were rough against her intensely sensitive flesh. She wanted them off despite the snow. The heat between them would keep her ablaze and oblivious to the elements. She shifted beneath him, rolling her hips against his. She yearned to feel his hard, naked form pressed tightly to her and his solid length inside her.~

Question of the week: If you could only gift one book to someone which book would it be?

It really was torture trying to think ONE book, but I finally made my decision. I would gift Companions of the Night by Vivian Vande Velde. This is a fun, YA, paranormal roller coaster ride and it was the very first vampire book I ever read (way back in middle school). Without this book, I don't know if I would have ever been drawn into the wonderful world of the paranormal or fallen madly in love (head over silhouettes) with vampires. That would have been down right sad! Not to mention, I may never have begun writing paranormal romance. So, Companions of the Night s my pick! (Got to love the dark, mysterious leading man, Ethan)
