Teaser Tuesday: The Darkest Light

 Teaser Tuesday

Work-in-Progress Update!

I’m beyond excited to share a peek at my project board!  Right now, I’m pouring my heart into The Darkest Light (Eternal Kiss, #1). This story has been with me for a long time—I actually wrote the very first draft back in high school! Over the years, it’s been rewritten and re-imagined, and now I’m deep into what I believe will be the final rewrite. If all goes as planned, you can expect to see it in the world in 2026

But that’s not all—I’m also juggling two other projects:

Fade to Night (Under Realm Assassins, #4)
Caressed by Dawn (Rulers of Darkness, #6)

Each of these worlds has characters whispering, demanding, and sometimes shouting for attention—and I can’t wait to bring them to life for you.

💌 To my amazing readers: thank you for sticking with me through the years, even during my “dry spell.” Your support means everything to me—you truly rock!

Be sure to check in with me every #TeaserTuesday for a snippet from a current work-in-progress or a revisit with old favorites. You won’t want to miss it.

His eyebrows drew together as he met his reflection’s stare. Hours ago, he ended three males he’d once considered brothers in arms, and he felt…nothing. Well, he felt sticky, but he felt no remorse, no sense of victory. Shouldn’t he at least feel some sort of satisfaction knowing he’d done his duty? He’d eliminated the threat to his charge.

Should he be disgusted or horrified by his actions? Should he be ashamed or proud? He wondered how his human self would’ve received this reflection, but nothing came. He was death. A demon feared by other demons. He was Evyn the Heartless.

Review of Companions of The Night

Description:

Kerry Nowicki, 16, never dreamed that vampires lived in her little town of Brockport, New York, let alone that she would become involved with a handsome one named Ethan. When she makes a late-night trip back to the laundromat to retrieve her little brother's stuffed bear, she interrupts the murderous plans of a vigilante committee that claims Ethan is one of the undead. Kerry tries to help him, so they assume that she is a vampire, too. When the two young people escape, Kerry's brother and father are kidnapped in retaliation, and a complicated game of cat-and-mouse follows. During the often harrowing experiences that follow, Kerry proves to be an intelligent, level-headed young woman. She recognizes the danger of her attraction to Ethan, but knows that she must trust him to help find her family. Ethan maintains the cunning and duplicity that readers might expect from a vampire. The plot is lively and intriguing, with an unexpected twist at the end

Review:
OH MY GOD!!!
This book is amazing!
I don't know why I did not post this book as my first review on my blog.
Companions of the Night is the first vampire book I ever read. Yep, it is because of this book that I have become a romance junkie and Ethan was my very first book boyfriend - he is the reason I began my love affair with vampires. Yes, I read this when I was 12, we had in our school library. WOW! Saying that makes me feel old...Anyway...this book has it all: suspense, danger, mystery, and a sweet YA budding love.

Kerry is the average girl next door, but everything changes the night she returned to the laundromat to retrieve her younger brother's bear. Ethan is there, tied up and bloodied. Naturally, she helps him escape the men she believes are crazy for accusing the pale, handsome, boy of being a vampire. However, the drama does not end there. Kerry's father and brother are kidnapped from their home and a threatening message is left on the wall in her living room - I can't tell you what it says, though I really want to - Needless to say, she needs Ethan's help.
What you get in this book: vampires, vampire hunters, a human girl thrown into the mix, kidnapping, boosting cars - a little crime.

Review of Under Realm Assassins Box Set

 Novel News Network Reviews

Under Realm Assassins Box Set 1

Review

This was a very well written series of stories that built upon each story.

Interconnecting with each other we meet new characters and keep up with past characters along the way.

Each character meeting was unique and well done. They complimented each other developing a closeness that drags you into the stories.

I loved the adventure, drama, excitement, intrigue, and discovery of each character's life. How they all found their soul mate, the individual lives and trials, all so very entertaining. Each book has its own sub-tropes.

Description

A Bewitching Christmas

It has been seven years since Analette Dyson stopped practicing magic and headed to New York, where she created a new life, complete with a fabulous job, an apartment in Central Park West, and a sexy werewolf fiancé. She never planned on returning to her small home town in Maine, but when she learns her grandmother is ill, she decides to pop over for a visit and what better time than Christmas? Excited for her fiancé to meet her family, they head up a day early.

Worst idea ever!

After doing some last minute Christmas shopping, Analette returns to their hotel to find her fiancé in bed with another woman. Cursing the universe for her never ending bad luck with men and dreading telling her family about her cheating fiancé, she heads to the bar to self medicate.

Not one to celebrate the holidays, vampire and assassin, Cole McRae, has followed a lead to a rustic town in witch territory. But after a few days of research and waiting for his target to show, he begins to suspect he has wasted his time. That is, until he meets a curvaceous blonde with bewitching green eyes at the local bar. One night with the enchanting Analette could make this useless trip well worth his time.

Their passion is undeniable and unbeknownst to them, their fates are intertwined. Magic and romance will strike on Christmas, changing their lives forever.

Surrender to the Chase

A year after the tragic death of his close friend and fellow assassin, Ethan Halstead is ready to take up his sniper rifle once more. But his first assignment is nothing he ever expected. Ethan must hunt and retrieve a beautiful, spirited, alluring werewolf.

Knowing no other way to escape an arranged marriage, Fraya flees from her pack. As she contemplates slipping across the border and heading to South America, she is captured by a dangerously seductive vampire who plans on escorting her back to her family. Even as Fraya vows to make Ethan’s mission as difficult as possible, she can’t resist the riotous desire he sparks within her.

But Ethan isn’t the only predator that pursues Fraya. A powerful rival pack’s alpha wants to make her his mate. Will Ethan be able to keep Fraya safe and return her to her pack? Or will he surrender to temptation and claim Fraya as his own?

Wicked Passion

James Stonewoll is an Elite Assassin for the Under Realm Syndicate—an expert hunter and merciless killer. As a former pirate, he thrives on danger, the more perilous the mission, the better and he can't resist his newest contract: eliminate a rebel shape-shifting magic thief that stalks the border of the Under Realm kidnapping and murdering innocent Others. But never did the centuries old vampire anticipate playing hero to a mythical temptress with luscious curves, tantalizing lips, and hypnotic eyes.

Captured and held prisoner, Katya Moro was trapped in a seemingly endless loop of unimaginable agony as her magic was slowly being torn from her soul. A gasp away from death, she is rescued by a sinful kiss and awakens in the strong arms of a powerful warrior whose roguish smile, sharp fangs, and intense strength unlock dormant instincts within her, an all-consuming madness that demands complete surrender.

Gazing down at her, James knew he had to kill her. Dark Magic Wielders, like the beautiful female he’d found, were a grave threat to human society and were not permitted to roam the mortal world. But Katya’s smoky voice and sweet kisses stir a fierce hunger inside him. She is unpredictable, uncontrollable and wickedly seductive—his perfect kind of dangerous. To keep her safe, James will protect her from the magic thieves that hunt her and his fellow assassins until he can find a way to return Katya to her home in the Under Realm.

Can Katya’s passion conquer the darkness within his soul?

A Life Through Books - Author Interview

A Life Through Books

Interview

What is the hardest part of writing your books?

Time. Hands down, it’s finding the time. With two kids under five, three dogs, two cats, a job, and an active-duty military spouse, life is delightfully chaotic. I write in the margins of my day—late at night (I’m a proud night owl), during nap time, or while reheating my coffee for the third time. I keep running notes on my phone—everything from snippets of dialogue to full scenes—and a notebook in the kitchen for those lightning-bolt moments that strike while I’m doing…whatever it is I am doing. My computer has documents titled “Book Title – Pieces” because sometimes I must build a book like a puzzle.

What are your most played songs?

Music is my muse. One song can spark an entire plotline or give voice to a character’s emotional storm. Right now, my playlist is a bit of a genre soup because I’m juggling three projects. Here’s a taste:

Lose Control – Teddy Swims
Dead End – Cal Scruby
Sail (Feed Me Remix) – AWOLNATION
Boss Sauce – Stevie Stone & JL
Ambitionz Az A Ridah – 2Pac
Bad Guy – Falling in Reverse

And because I love a little vibe switch, you’ll also find Rebelution and Chase Rice sprinkled in.

Do you have critique partners or beta readers?

My best friend Rebecca is my rock—she’s my critique partner, beta reader, and unofficial world historian. She keeps my timelines (and my characters) in check. I’ve also been lucky enough to connect with a few wonderful readers who’ve stepped in as beta readers. It’s such a gift to see how others experience your work—it makes the story stronger, every time.

What book are you reading now?

I just finished The Wrath by Gena Showalter (Rise of the Warlords #4). Her writing is so immersive—bold heroes, badass heroines, and worlds that swallow you whole. She’s one of my go-to authors.

How did you start your writing career?

Middle school. I fell in love with books, and soon after, I wrote one of my own. That story became my debut novel, Caressed by Moonlight (Rulers of Darkness #1). I self-published it in 2010 and have been hooked ever since. Life tossed in some plot twists—two kids, three cross-country military moves, and a mountain of change—but I never let go of the dream. I’m thrilled to be writing again, sharing stories that have lived in my head for years.

Tell us about your next release.

I recently bundled the first three books of my Under Realm Assassins series into a box set (yay for binge-readers like me!). As for what’s coming next... well, that depends on which characters won’t stop talking! I’m working on:

Fade to Night (Under Realm Assassins #4)
Caressed by Dawn (Rulers of Darkness #6)
The Darkest Light (Eternal Kiss #1)

Each story has its claws in me in different ways, and I can’t wait to share whichever one claims the finish line first.
