First, Johanna Lindsey is one of my favorite authors. 
Second, this book is on my top 10 list. 
Raids, Vikings, a spit-fire heroine, a rough and tumble hero, passion, betrayal and more!
This book will hold your imagination captive from the start and take you on an adventure in Viking terrain.
Lady Brenna is beautiful and strong, she faced the Vikings in battle when they came to her family's home. However, she was captured and taken as a slave back to Norway. She is not a wilting flower by any means. In fact, one fault you could assign her would be too much pride, but it works in this romance.
Garrick Haardrad is a hard warrior. As a second son, he is forced to seek his fortune over seas (and has done pretty well). Upon his return home, he finds a woman in his bed - a female slave who was given to him by his father (the man that captured Brenna). Garrick, jaded from a past bad relationship, is really not interested in the ladies, but he is willing to make an exception for the fierce Celtic beauty.
Naturally, a battle of wills break between slave and master. Brenna has no interest in doing Garrick's bidding and is hell bent on taking her revenge. But something unexpected happens - love. 
If you have never read this book or a Johanna Lindsey novel I HIGHLY recommend that you do. Johanna Lindsey has a gift for writing romance. (She is also one of the first romance authors, beginning her career in the 70s).
I must admit, I read this book at least once to twice a year.

I'm currently working on Caressed by the Edge of Darkness (Rulers of Darkness #5), Gabriel's book. This story has been a long time in the making. I mean, hell, its the 5th book of a 6 book series. However, when I originally mapped out this series it was meant to be the last book, but the characters have led me in a different direction.

This is a hot Christmas romance.
Analette and Cole are introduced to the reader, they meet, and soon after they indulge in a steamy one-night-stand. The morning after they discover they have to work together to make it to Christmas alive. Can they turn lust into love?
I loved the steamy scenes between Ana and Cole. They were deliciously hot. The story that followed after their one-night-stand was really enjoyable. There was some suspense, but mostly it was about Ana and Cole connecting on a less physical level.
The world building was very intriguing. I think this novella works very well as a standalone, but it's a perfect way to introduce readers to the setting and get them interested in the Under Realm Assassins series as well. I know I am more than tempted to read more in this series.
All in all this is both a hot and sweet read that I can advice to anyone who's looking for a Paranormal Christmas read.
Why should you read it: It's a steamy holiday read."

Review:

I've been on a huge Highlander historical romance kick lately. I absolutely love the Highland Guard series by Monica McCarty and, despite my insane schedule/life, I've managed to read at least one of her books a week. When I purchase Ms. McCarty's books Margo Maguire pops up as a recommended purchase. I've read Ms. Maguire in the past and decided to give her another try.

Lachlann McMillan has been shielding a broken heart for years, after his first love married his rival. Now, he views marriage as a means to an end. In the interest of protecting his Clan and gaining a Lairdship, he has agreed to marry a woman he soon realizes he detests. 

Anna is a kindhearted woman despite her hard life. She defends her friends to the end and gains Lachlann's interest from the start. Sadly, he hasn't come her home to marry her. He's come her marry her evil stepsister. Yep, this book has a little Cinderella story line with a highlander twist. However, Lachlann's plans of a quick and lucrative marriage go awry when he realizes his rival is there trying to steal yet another of his brides. (Unfortunately, Lachlann's first love passed.) Drama and danger ensues. Anna and Lachlann must learn that love is not a weakness, but a strength. 

I liked the sexual tension between the main characters and, as mentioned above, the Cinderella aspect. I'm a sucker for fairy tales. But I had a hard time really getting into the characters. They were a bit flat. There was also a lot of repetitive dialogue and inner thought. And, something that was odd and a bit irritating was that Lachlann seemed to always be around. He magically appears by her side - WTF. Not to mention poor Lachlann spent a lot of time rescuing Anna. 

The Highlander's Desire is an easy read, I finished it in a few hours and what kept me turning the page was the sweet romance and tension between the main characters.

Review:

I love the world that Ms. Cole has created in her Immortals After Dark series. This is yet another amazing book! And it is #5 within the series. I don't think Ms. Cole has lost her touch at all. Sometimes, long series can become flat, boring, lose their luster overall. Not this one!
I think this is my favorite of the series. I really enjoyed the main characters and I felt they complement each other very well. Plus, I have a thing for the real bad boys - the ones everyone believes can't be saved and Conrad is just right of me.
Néomi is wonderful! After years of being a ghost, she still possess all her gumption. She is a forward woman (especially from the time she came from, the 1920s) and she speaks her mind. I have to say, she is one of my favorite female leads. I must admit, in the beginning I was wondering how a ghost and a crazed vampire could end up together...You all will have to read it to find out for yourselves.

~ The girl tugged on his shirt. “That’s the one they talk about.”

“Is she here somewhere?”

The girl wet her cracked, chapped lips and answered, “No.”

“Did they take her?”

“She was never here.”

Gabriel shrugged off the oddity. He needed to lead the group to the emergency stairwell. As he turned away from the cell, rays of white moonlight danced across the photo, drawing his attention once more.
He froze, the air punched out of his chest as ruthless chills attacked his nervous system. He felt as though he had fallen through the ice of a frozen lake. His heart hammered as he slowly lifted his hand, his fingers gently brushing the photo.

Those eyes. He had never seen anyone with electric violet eyes. They seemed to glow and they pierced his soul. Gabriel swallowed hard as he studied her delicate features, his gaze lingering a moment on her lush, slightly parted lips. She was looking over her shoulder, brushing aside her long, thick, deep red hair. His gut twisted and his fingers began to tremble against the photo as realization pulled him even further beneath the icy surface.
